Private Investigator (PI) Online Training
All new private investigators must complete a basic training course and pass the basic ministry test before applying for a license.
Our Credibility
The ministry maintains a list of training providers that have agreed to provide basic training in accordance with the Training and Testing regulation of the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005.
License Employment Canada is registered under Canada Risk Solution Inc.

Private Investigator only: $250.00 + HST
Course length:
You are required to complete a minimum of 50 hours either in-class or online basic training in order to complete the requirements to obtain your security guard licence. This includes your certification in Emergency Level First Aid.

Training completion number
After you complete the basic training course, you will receive a training completion number from your training provider. You will need this number to register for the test.
